It begins by outlining that framework and its assumptions regarding open markets and rules-based trade. The course then examines the rise of national security and climate change concerns, the impact of these on Australia’s trade and investment policy and the return to industry policy. Session 3 exploresPresident Trump’s trade and tariff policies and their impact on US trade partners, global markets and the US economy.
